If you need extra digital mixer channels, the DixiMax FS provides a cost-effective, robust solution. Pros So many ins! Cons No computer connection options. Project studio builders will typically kit themselves out with enough audio ins and outs to cater for their own needs. Then friends get wind of the rig and, sniffing a money-saving opportunity, attempt to blag some free recording for their bands. A drum kit will occupy four at the very least, then there’s the bass, guitar, vocal mic and whatever else. Suddenly, the session starts to look complicated. Alternatively, in a spending frenzy you’ve lashed out on hardware tone generators and your mixing desk or audio interface starts to look thin on ins. In either scenario, you could deploy a sub-mixer or buy a bigger desk, but PreSonus has a new gadget that could present a much more elegant solution. At rear, we’ve eight quarter-inch outs, another eight direct outs for routing signals to a backup device, plus an insert jack for each channel.

If you can’t spring for the Delta , the 66 will get the job done admirably. Uses the same drivers as the famed delta , and it works well on windows XP.

Headphones of choice Approach 1: I like Ableton mainly for the way it handles loops, audio and softsynths. In particular, the Live can act as a Rewire host for Reason. You can also use Cubase, Logic or Sonar as a Rewire host. I’d not go with Pro Tools LE here, but you can make that work for you too.

PreSonus knows that your preamps are a key component in the sonic quality of your recordings. The job of a microphone preamplifier is to boost microphone level signals to line level so that the signal can be converted from analog to digital. This mic to line boost is generally a preamplification of over times the voltage of the original mic level signal. This preamplification stage is one of the most important stages that the signal will go through before converted to digital, and is why a high performance preamplifier is important to achieving great results.
A cheap off-the-shelf, op-amp type preamp found in most interfaces translates into thin, noisy, and harsh results. With the XMAX preamp you get full-sounding, true-to-life sonic performance to serve your music best. The strength of the DICE II chip lies with its ability to easily handle high channel count at high bit-rate while minimizing latency and load on your computer.
JetPLL incorporates noise shaping to virtually remove all audio band jitter. JetPLL ensures the highest converter performance possible, resulting in better stereo separation and clearer more transparent audio.

What the posters above are alluding to is using an external sound card for all of your Maschine audio needs. That’s what quite a few people do. It has numerous advantages. You can usually plug in more things, as external sound cards often have more inputs than a computer does.

I’ve been looking to replace my 3 ADA preamps since they are over 2 years old now and they’re starting to make noise. It’s been very stable and I only occasionally drop some output buffers. I never could get it to stabilize below 64×1. I wasn’t sure if a firewire unit would cut it but I figured the only way to know would be to buy a couple of them and see. I installed the drivers and plugged in the two units. Windows found them and they synced right away. At first I set the buffers to 62×2 to see what I would get.
I was a little disappointed at first because SAC was dropping output buffers at about every few seconds. It took a couple tries but I found the right settings and the slipped buffers stopped. Then I tried 64×1.
